The Saudi Aramco-led consortium is in talks with the Maharashtra government for allotment of land for setting up the proposed Rs four lakh crore mega refinery and petrochemicals complex in the state

The state government has offered an alternative site at Roha in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company hold 50 percent stake in the project while the remaining stake is held by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) and the Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL)

IOCL holds 25 percent stake in the project while HPCL and BPCL hold 12.5 percent stake each
